Many Theta sisters generously contributed to the construction and furnishing of our cherished house. Since July 2022, our sole source of revenue derives from leasing rooms to current female SMU students at top market rates. However, this income stream falls short to cover the cost of operating our house and paying the balance of the $3.5 million construction loan. Your financial support is critical to maintain our house in the absence of the previous income from the Beta Sigma chapter.
Despite the ongoing suspension of the Beta Sigma chapter, all major concerns with SMU and Kappa Alpha Theta Fraternity have been resolved. We are told the earliest the Beta Sigma chapter could return to campus is Fall 2026 with prospect of new members occupying the house in Fall 2027.
We have navigated many obstacles to reach this point, but now we have a clear path forward. NOW IS THE TIME for all Thetas to come together and commit to annual financial support to secure ownership of the house and preserve our investment for a new chapter of future Beta Sigma sisters.
Our Beta Sigma friendships have continued long after graduation. Together, we can do more than we can do alone. Our financial need for is $400,000 per year, until we can fully repay our construction debt. We encourage you to seriously consider donating a one-time gift or a recurring annual pledge. Your gift of any amount determines our success.
